The global oldest salt mine

The global oldest salt mine is located in Hallstatt town in Austria, built in 900 BC.
A lot of local salt mines were closed many years ago, now only one salt mine is in operation and open to the visitors who are interested in the salt history and the knowledge about salt.

In fact, Hallstatt town is a village in Austria, close to the Hallstatt Lake, although the area is very small, if no salt culture, maybe nobody knows here, but due to beautiful lake and fresh air, all visitors think to live here for one day is not enough...
